Kobayan Wins DreamHack Atlanta 2026 Street Fighter 6 Tournament
Kobayan, a Zangief player and member of Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto, won the Street Fighter 6 division at DreamHack Atlanta 2026. The tournament took place in Atlanta, Georgia, from May 15 to May 17. Kobayan was sent to the losers bracket after losing to DualKevin but fought his way back to the grand finals. There, he defeated American player Nephew. In the championship match, Kobayan first won 3-2 to reset the bracket. The final match went to a full round, with Kobayan winning the Zangief versus Juri matchup. The victory earned him a $15,000 prize and a spot at the Esports World Cup 2026 in Saudi Arabia. Kobayan posted on X that he was more nervous than ever but credited strong support from his teammates for his performance. He also said he was frustrated about missing the event last year and was happy to participate in the Esports World Cup.
