Perceptum Horror Game Gets New Footage, Spring 2027 Release Window

Publisher Perp Games and developer Duck Reaction showed the latest footage for the psychological horror game Perceptum during gamescom 2026's Opening Night Live, held on August 26 Japan time. The game is in development for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a release window of spring 2027. Perceptum casts the player as a medium investigating a family that vanished shortly after moving into a new home, a case the police have dropped. The medium has no attack options, so survival depends on two actions: closing eyes to heighten hearing and detect whispers, or looking into mirrors to reveal traces invisible to the naked eye. Mirrors can also capture supernatural phenomena and may attract threats, forcing the player to flee. Duck Reaction, an indie studio run by brothers Matthieu and Simon, previously made the puzzle game Meaningless and the party game Turbo Live; Perceptum is their first horror title. The game was announced in January, with a publishing deal and console release confirmed in May. Playtesting is currently open on Steam and supports Japanese text, as does the full game.
