Sega announced SONIC PICO PARK during the Summer Game Fest 2026 broadcast on June 6. The title is a collaboration between the cooperative action puzzle game PICO PARK and the Sonic the Hedgehog series, released as part of Sonic's 35th anniversary project. Development is handled by TECOPARK, with publishing in Japan by PICO PARK. Playable characters include Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and other series members, all depicted in pixel art sprites. Stages feature Sonic-style gimmicks such as Spin Dashes, rings, loops, and springs, while retaining the core PICO PARK goal of all players reaching the stage's goal plate. The game supports 2 to 8 players locally and online with cross-play. It is confirmed for PC via Steam; releases on other platforms are currently undecided. Price and release date remain unannounced. Director Shunsuke Miyake, a former 15-year Sega employee who originally created PICO PARK as a personal project, expressed delight at the collaboration. Separately, the PICO PARK series' new company, PICO PARK Co., Ltd., was established, with SONIC PICO PARK as its first announced title.

Developer TECOPARK announced on June 4 that distribution of the cooperative puzzle action game PICO PARK: Classic Edition will end at 12:00 JST on June 15. The game, originally released on Steam in 2016 as PICO PARK, was later renamed and made free after a 2021 update. In September 2025, it received its first update in nine years, adding online co-op and refreshed visuals. TECOPARK had intended to make the game paid again after that update, but discovered that Steam's policy prevents a game from reverting to paid status once it has been made free. The game was therefore kept as a permanently free title. On June 1, the developer announced that distribution would end soon, citing the need to focus on future series development. The specific halt date was revealed on June 4 via the official X account, which also noted that approximately 10 million people have downloaded the game. Players who add the game to their Steam library before the cutoff can continue to play it indefinitely.

TECOPARK announced on June 1 that it will soon delist the cooperative action puzzle game PICO PARK: Classic Edition on Steam. The game, originally released in 2016, is the early version of the PICO PARK series. It was made free in October 2025 after a Steam policy quirk prevented the developer from switching it back to a paid title following an update that added online multiplayer. The company said it decided to stop distribution after a judgment that continuing to offer the free version was not sustainable as the series progresses. The exact delisting date has not been announced. Users who have already downloaded the game can still play it. The series includes the original PICO PARK, a Nintendo Switch version with extra content released in 2019, and PICO PARK 2, which sold over 1 million copies within seven months of its 2024 launch. The developer encouraged interested players to add the game to their Steam libraries before it is removed.
