Andon Labs announced Pion, a platform that hands company operations to long-running AI agents it calls Persistent agents. A supervisory agent, Andonos, oversees them. Pion supplies email, phone, browser, banking, and terminal access so agents can contact partners, gather information, and make payments. Andon Labs calls the businesses experiments, says the AI may misjudge, and notes Andon Market and Andon Cafe were not profitable when it wrote. Access opens from a waitlist in sequence.

Sega will run a Puyo Puyo booth at the Tokyo Game Show 2026 Family Game Park, held at TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall from September 19 to 21, 2026. The free area is open to junior high students and younger with a guardian. It includes Puyo Puyo eSports play and daily qualifiers for the PGRS U-15 Special Tournament, a programming workshop taught by pro gamers, and a Kids Stage.

Yu-Gi-Oh! WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 ran three days from August 28 at Tokyo Garden Theater, with finals for all four divisions held August 30 before a live audience. In the Master Duel Division, Korea's team Called By Army beat Japan's Glory Future in the only 3-player team battle of the event. Japanese player Taku won the Duel Links (RUSH DUEL) Division.

During the Pokémon World Championships 2026 stream on August 31, it was announced that Mega Evolved Pokémon with the name Z will appear in Pokémon Champions. The official Pokémon Information Bureau X account revealed the abilities of Mega Absol Z, Mega Lucario Z, and Mega Garchomp Z, including a new ability introduced in this game.

Xbox Game Studios announced at the XBOX @ gamescom Broadcast 2026 that National Championship Air Races for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will release on October 13 local time. Soldak Entertainment released the 1.0 patch for Din's Champion, a side-scrolling 2D action RPG, ending its roughly two-year early access period on Steam. The patch fixes skill speed issues, improves NPC usefulness and monster digging behavior, and adds new content. The game features base building, resource gathering, crafting, and survival against monsters that raid player bases.

Streamer IShowSpeed will perform his unofficial World Cup anthem "World Cup (Champions)" at the closing ceremony before the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium. He initially thought the FIFA call was a prank. The ceremony also features Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Tom Cruise, and Jennifer Hudson. The song was included in the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album.

Bandai Spirits announced a collaboration between the online shooter Apex Legends and three Real Grade Gunpla kits, which will be sold exclusively at Gundam Base stores and GUNDAM SIDE-F starting July 25. The lineup includes the RG 1/144 Freedom Gundam -Apex Legends Crypto Ver.-, priced at 4,400 yen; the RG 1/144 Wing Gundam Zero EW -Apex Legends Valkyrie Ver.-, also 4,400 yen; and the RG 1/144 Gundam Epion -Apex Legends Alter Ver.-, priced at 5,500 yen. Each kit features a color scheme inspired by an Apex Legends character: the Freedom Gundam uses white, yellow-green, and black for Crypto; the Wing Gundam Zero uses black and orange for Valkyrie; and the Gundam Epion uses light blue and black for Alter. All three kits include original Apex Legends marking stickers and come in full-color packaging. The collaboration was announced on July 1 and the kits will be available at physical Gundam Base locations and GUNDAM SIDE-F.

SNK announced the SWC 2026 Finals will take place November 27-29 in Stockholm, Sweden, as part of DreamHack Stockholm 2026. The tournament covers five SNK fighting game titles with a combined $4.2 million prize pool across qualifiers and finals. A regional league for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was also announced.

Square Enix announced a collaboration event between the mobile RPG "Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent" and "Final Fantasy X," running from June 18 to August 13. Akita Shoten's Dokodemo Young Champion digital manga magazine will cease publication with its June issue. The magazine, which began as a 300-page digital supplement in 2019, grew to 2,000 pages. Plans to expand to 3,000 pages were abandoned because some digital retailers could not sell a magazine of that size. All serialized manga are moving to Akita Shoten's YanChan Web service, which launched in March 2023 and has over 1 million subscribers.

HEROZ and The Pokémon Company will bring the battle analysis AI 'Pokémon Battle Scope' to the Pokémon Japan Championships 2026 on June 6 and 7 at Pacifico Yokohama. It is the third consecutive year the AI has been used at the tournament. This year, the system has been retuned to support the new title 'Pokémon Champions' and its Mega Evolution rules.
