Pixel 11 Series Launches August 20 With Tensor G6 SoC
Google announced on August 12 that the Pixel 11 smartphone series will launch in Japan on August 20. The lineup includes four models: the standard Pixel 11, the Pixel 11 Pro, the Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. All models run on the new Tensor G6 system-on-a-chip, which Google says improves CPU performance, with web browser speed up to 25% faster and app launch speed up to 15% faster. The TPU is 1.5 times more powerful, enabling AI processing at up to 3.5 times the speed while reducing power consumption. The Pixel 11 starts at 136,800 yen for a 6.3-inch model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the Pixel 11 Pro starts at 174,800 yen, the Pro XL at 207,800 yen, and the Pro Fold at 279,900 yen. The standard model's camera unit is 40% thinner, and the Pro models feature an improved telephoto lens with 120x super-resolution zoom. The Pro Fold is thinner and lighter, with a reduced crease. AI features include Magic Capture and enhanced Gemini integration, though some features do not yet support Japanese.
