HORI Racing Wheel Apex Formula Announced for 2026 Winter

HORI announced on July 28 that it will release the Racing Wheel Apex Formula for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC in winter 2026. The steering controller is a variation of the existing Racing Wheel Apex, with a formula-style steering unit designed for racing cars. The button layout allows operation while gripping the wheel, and the steering unit can adjust fine vehicle settings like a real race car. The controller includes an assign function for remapping buttons, four saveable profiles, and analog-sensing foot pedals for precise accelerator and braking input. A dedicated app enables customization of steering and pedal settings, including button mapping, maximum steering angle, dead zone, and linearity. The price is 21,980 yen including tax. The steering unit measures about 29 cm in diameter, has a rotation angle of about 270 degrees, and weighs about 1.4 kg. The product supports XInput games on Windows 11 and connects via USB Type-A. It lacks adaptive triggers, motion sensors, vibration, touchpad, microphone, speaker, light bar, and headphone jack, so games relying on those features may not play comfortably.
