Raiders of Blackveil Update 'Fangs & Face' Adds Two New Champions
Indie developer Wombo Games released a major update for its roguelite action game Raiders of Blackveil on July 15. Titled 'Fangs & Face,' the update introduces two new playable champions: Foxley, an archer who wields ice magic, and Valora, a paladin who uses a giant hammer and the power of light. The game, currently in Early Access on Steam, supports solo or cooperative play for up to three players. It combines top-down action with a MOBA-like champion system, character development, and roguelite elements such as random perks and equipment. The update also adds 10 new equipment items and a save-and-quit feature that lets players pause a raid and resume from the same point later, a response to early access feedback. Raiders of Blackveil is set in a dystopian world where animals rebel against the human-controlled megacorporation Blackveil. The full version 1.0 is scheduled for release in Q1 2027. Wombo Games, based in Copenhagen, is led by Janos Flösser, co-founder of IO Interactive and former Chief Creative Officer of Square Enix. The studio consists of 21 developers who have worked on series such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Hitman.
