Developer Hige Takumi is distributing Hengband Voxel HD2D, an unofficial frontend that renders the traditional roguelike Hengband in voxel 3D with HD-2D styling, from his own site. The "frontier town" and the early quest The Tongueless Witness are shown in 3D, and an FPS-style view with WASD movement and mouse look is available. Variants such as Gensou Band and Tangband, plus Rogue in a Japanese-localized version, also run in it. As of October 5, 2026, some actions are unstable. It supports PC (Windows/Linux) and Android.

Bandai Spirits Hobby Division announced two new High Grade Gunpla kits: the HG 1/144 Baubaram and HG 1/144 Keriis from Gundam Rogue Orbit, the newest console game in the Gundam series. Bandai Namco Filmworks will host GUNDAM-Con2027 SIDE MAKUHARI at Makuhari Messe from January 9 to 11, 2027. The company confirmed stage details and opened the second ticket lottery, which runs from October 2 to October 12, 2026. Adults pay 5,000 yen and children 3,000 yen. DAY1's headline stage covers the RG Project, the Gundam series' new cross-media initiative. It will reveal the latest information on the action game Gundam Rogue Orbit, which releases March 5, 2027. Kenji Kamiyama, director of the TV anime Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO, and voice actor Takuya Otsuka, who plays protagonist Azumi Rei, will appear. The anime begins airing in April 2027. Bandai Namco Entertainment will release the action game GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 5, 2027. Producer Yuya Tomiyama and director Yoshiyuki Serizawa, the latter at Bandai Namco Studios, gave a joint media interview timed to a preview play session. The project began under a mission to deliver a Gundam work to game users worldwide, and the team landed on the concept of Gundam versus extraterrestrial lifeforms. Players pilot the Gundam Helix against a giant enemy called Apocalypse, and the game leans on close-range combat over the long-range weapons typical of the series. Serizawa said the aim is to give players worldwide an ace pilot experience, following the sequence of boarding, cockpit entry, briefing, and catapult launch. A full story run is estimated at around 20 hours. A three-player co-op mission unlocks after the story is cleared.

Bandai Namco Entertainment's Gundam Rogue Orbit is shaping up as a melee-first action game, according to hands-on previews published September 8, 2026. The game launches March 5, 2027 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Previewers played roughly 30 to 45 minutes across two missions: Rail Control Battle, a tutorial-style stage against a molten boss called Giant, and Instinct, a solo fight against a dragon-like boss named Drake. Combat centers on three preset mech assemblies: the Assault Sword, a short-range attacker with a grappling-hook Anchor ability; the Whip Sword, which switches between sword and whip modes; and the Sword Lance, a mid-range build that gains power with distance. A shared Tactical Gauge powers both the offensive Tactical Skill and the cancel-any-action Tactical Move dodge. Building the G.U.N.RISE gauge unlocks Over-Rise, a temporary state previewers describe as near-invincible, with auto-dodging and an AP Unit Burst finisher. The game also includes part-breaking boss fights and online co-op for up to three players.

Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on August 28 that GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will be exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2026, which runs September 19 to 21 in Chiba. The booth, located in Hall 5, will offer a playable demo corner where visitors can experience the game for the first time in the world. Players can choose from three preset mobile suits and engage in high-speed, high-mobility battles. The lottery application period runs from August 28 to August 31 at 23:59, with participation windows on September 19 and 20 from 12:40 to 17:00 and on September 21 from 12:40 to 16:00. Demo participants will receive a Gundam Card Game GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT Promotional Card, and those who try the special unit also get an original neck strap. Writer Otsuichi has released a free browser roguelike titled Minimal Rogue on his itch.io account. The game was made with Claude Code, an AI coding tool, and its music was generated with Suno AI. It is a traditional roguelike in the lineage of the original Rogue, with the player character represented by the single character '@'. Players move with arrow keys, attack by pressing toward enemies, and defend with the space bar. Items and equipment found in the dungeon strengthen the player, and the goal is to descend through floors toward the lowest level. The game reaches a tentative ending at the 100th floor, which Otsuichi said takes about 3 to 5 hours of play. The deepest floor, however, sits at around 180 septillion floors, and reaching it would take an estimated 13.8 billion years of continuous play. A true ending is prepared for anyone who manages that feat. Otsuichi said on his note that he began experimenting with Claude Code around spring this year and found the process had a fun similar to RPG Maker. The source code is published on GitHub under the MIT license, and the game supports Japanese and English. Otsuichi recommends playing on a PC screen, noting smartphone support was halted midway.

Publisher Team17 began distribution of version 1.0 on August 5, 2026, about six months after the game entered early access in February 2026. The game is set in a near-future where the death of the world's richest CEO has thrown society into chaos, and corporations hire private military companies through an app called MERX. Players join the elite security organization Rogue Point to fight radical mercenaries in missions with randomly changing objectives and map layouts. The full release adds a fifth map called Clinic, which mixes open areas with narrow corridors, plus a new boss named R. Son, who uses a flamethrower. Three new weapons are included: the Mule compact shotgun, the KT50 semi-auto carbine, and the A1M semi-auto rifle.
