RPG Maker U2U P2D Map Editor Trial Runs Through November 16
Gotcha Gotcha Games released a P2D Map Editor trial version for RPG Maker U2U on Steam on October 20, 2026, timed to the game's participation in Steam Next Fest. The trial runs through November 16, 2026. P2D, short for Perspective 2D, is a map creation feature new to this entry in the RPG Maker series. It lets users build maps with height and depth through what the company describes as intuitive controls. In the trial, users can create P2D maps, apply various effects, and preview character walking animations. Maps can be saved, and that data can be carried over to the full version. The trial does not include game creation features, and the company notes the build is still in development, so specifications may change. Alongside the release, Gotcha Gotcha Games is running "Let's Make P2D Maps Together!," a submission project for screenshots of maps made in the trial, open through the same November 16 end date.
