Google Unveils Googlebook Premium Laptop Combining Android and ChromeOS
Google announced the Googlebook, a premium laptop that merges Android and ChromeOS into one platform, on September 21, 2026, according to GIGAZINE. The device, described as aimed at becoming the Mac for Android users, is positioned to compete with Apple's MacBook. Android ecosystem president Sameer Samat first discussed the integrated ChromeOS-and-Android concept in July 2025. ASCII.jp, reporting from the second day of Snapdragon Summit 2026, says the Googlebook runs on Snapdragon and features integration with Android smartphones. A hands-on demo showed the Googlebook can automatically generate widgets and apps using AI.
