Shaoh's manga I'm Dating a Dark Summoner is headed to television as a short anime. The production was first outlined in July with a teaser trailer, then given a firm premiere date and a fuller cast and music lineup in September. Between the two announcements, the adaptation moved from a staff roster and a general October window to a confirmed schedule.

Seiya Miyajima directs the short anime and writes the scripts. AtoriE is the animation studio, and the July teaser named sound director Fumihiko Otera and art director Yoichiro Yamamoto. Those roles were the first production details attached to the adaptation.

The September update filled in the debut and the cast. The short anime premieres October 4 on Tokyo MX at 25:20, effectively October 5 at 1:20 a.m., with BS11 airing October 7. HIDIVE streams the anime. The main promotional video previews opening theme "Zettai Kansei Kisei Jijitsu" by Ringo Coisio and announces the ending theme "AKUMA No? Hime Goto" performed by Mao Komiya. Akane Nishimura voices Haru, the party leader and swordswoman, and Maya Ayahane voices Eury, an elf archer from the Lilylala forest.

What was unsettled in July is now settled: the premiere date, the theme song performers, two more cast members, and the streamer are all confirmed. The staff structure from the teaser remains unchanged.
