Crunchyroll Acquires Witch on the Holy Night for January Theatrical Run
Crunchyroll has acquired the anime feature film Witch on the Holy Night and set a North American theatrical release for January 29, 2027, with distribution handled alongside Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film adapts the 2012 visual novel written by Kinoko Nasu and developed by Type-Moon, the company behind the Fate franchise. It follows Aoko Aozaki, a high school girl who is an apprentice Magician living with her housemate Alice Kuonji, and her encounter with a boy. ufotable animated the film; the studio previously worked with Type-Moon on Garden of sinners, Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], and the Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel] theatrical trilogy. The film will screen in Japanese with English subtitles and in an English dub. The international rollout begins in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on January 21, 2027, ahead of the United States and Canada.
