Funguys Swarm Dev Cites Vampire Survivors and Samurai Jack as Influences
Stairway Games' creative director Putu discussed the bullet-hell survival game Funguys Swarm in a published interview. Putu said Vampire Survivors started the project, that Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon animation informed the visuals, and that the villain Fire King draws heavily on Aku from Samurai Jack. The game launched August 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC at 999 yen with Japanese support.
