Star Fox Adventures Joins GameCube Nintendo Classics
During the Nintendo Direct streamed on September 9, 2026, Nintendo announced that Star Fox Adventures will be added to the Nintendo GameCube Nintendo Classics lineup. The game becomes available immediately after the Direct concludes. Star Fox Adventures is the third entry in the Star Fox series, originally released in 2002. It is a 3D action game in which Fox investigates a planet inhabited by dinosaurs alongside his dinosaur partner Tricky, solving mysteries and puzzles while adventuring. The announcement accompanied a separate free update for the Switch 2 title Star Fox, distributed on September 30. That update adds split-screen support to battle mode, three new battle stages named Katina, Sector X, and Venom, and allows up to four players to join online battles from a single Switch 2 console. The two announcements were presented together during the same broadcast, with the Classics addition following the free update news.
