Steam Deck OLED Gets Major Price Hike in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong
KOMODO, the official distributor for Valve's Steam Deck in Asia, implemented a significant price increase for the Steam Deck OLED on June 1, 2026. The 512GB model rose from 99,800 yen to 137,980 yen, an increase of 38,180 yen. The 1TB model jumped from 114,800 yen to 167,980 yen, a rise of 53,180 yen. The revision applies to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Valve cited rising component costs and global logistics conditions as reasons for the increase. This is the second price revision for the Steam Deck OLED in 2026, following a 15,000 yen hike in March. The devices remain sold out at KOMODO STATION, with no restock announced. Users on social media expressed surprise at the new prices, with some comparing the increase unfavorably to other handheld consoles.
