Studio Pierrot's two franchises are both active in late 2026: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is airing new episodes, and Pastel Yumi, the Magic Idol is getting its first Blu-ray release. Both items trace to specific releases covered in Yomimono's September 2026 stories.
Studio Pierrot's current coverage runs through two franchises at once. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episode 47, titled THE END 2, aired September 5, 2026, and gives Uryu Ishida the central role. He joins Nelliel and Tier Harribel to fight Yhwach, and the episode includes a Quincy and Arrancar alliance, marking anime-original developments in the adaptation. The episode also brings the deceased Jushiro Ukitake back before Shunsui Kyoraku, which drew an emotional response from viewers. The pairing of a new Uryu-led fight with a quiet Kyoraku and Ukitake callback was the episode's defining combination.
Separately, the fourth Pierrot magical girl series, Pastel Yumi, the Magic Idol, is getting its first Blu-ray release. The 40th Anniversary Blu-ray BOX arrives October 28, 2026, and includes all 25 episodes, a newly drawn box design by Yoshiyuki Kishi, new audio commentary, a booklet, and the 1987 OVA. The set completes the franchise's anniversary box lineup alongside the currently airing new entry, Lulu and Lili, the Magic Sisters.
The two stories do not intersect, but they show Pierrot's catalog running in both directions at once: a current Bleach adaptation continuing in weekly broadcast, and a 1980s magical girl title moving through its first physical release cycle. Neither story reports staff, sales figures, or episode counts for Bleach. The Bleach item is limited to episode 47's content and airdate; the Pastel Yumi item is limited to the box set's contents and release date.
