Bandai Namco Filmworks and Bandai Namco Pictures issued an apology for including an unapproved reference to Attack on Titan in the new Sgt. Frog movie. The rights holders had clearly stated their objections beforehand, but a communications breakdown within the companies allowed the reference to remain. The companies promised to tighten internal verification systems.

MegaHouse's G.E.M. Series has unveiled first color samples of Attack on Titan palm-sized Eren and Levi figures, plus first prototypes of Bungo Stray Dogs Dazai and Naruto Shippuden Minato. Re-releases of Naruto, Demon Slayer, and Gintama figures were also announced, alongside a Premium Bandai lottery event.

MAPPA will produce the anime adaptation of Naoki Fujita's Beat & Motion manga, with a worldwide Netflix release scheduled for 2027. The announcement came during the studio's 15th anniversary livestream on June 19, which also revealed a teaser visual, a first trailer, and the main staff and cast. Yuki Komada directs the series, with Misaki Morie handling series composition and scripts. Kazunori Aoki is the character designer and chief animation director. Shuichiro Umeda voices protagonist Tatsuhiko Hirayama, a former aspiring animator who reconnects with his craft after meeting indie musician Nico Kashiwagi, played by Aya Gomazuru. The manga ran in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ from February 2023 to January 2025, spanning six volumes. It originated as the grand prize winner of Shueisha's Million Tag competition, which guaranteed the winner a serialization and an anime adaptation. Viz Media and MANGA Plus publish the manga in English. The livestream also included new information on Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan, and other MAPPA projects.

Koei Tecmo Games announced on June 19 that MAPPA, the studio behind the TV anime Attack on Titan The Final Season, will produce the opening animation for the upcoming tactical hunting action game Attack on Titan 3. The opening will be a completely new animation that depicts the story of Attack on Titan from beginning to end. The game is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Further details, including the release date and the first look at actual gameplay footage, will be revealed during an official web program airing on July 2 at 19:00 JST. The program will feature voice actors Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa Ackerman) and Shiori Mikami (Krista Lenz), along with development producer Eisei Suzuki as a commentator. According to Game Spark, the opening animation will not be included in the main game at launch but will be added in a later update.

THQ Nordic released the Chapter 4 update for Titan Quest II on June 19, 2026, calling it the largest update since the action RPG entered early access in August 2025. The update opens the new adventure area Wild Lands, which includes ancient ruins, buried cities, swamps, centaur camps, and the Temple of Nemesis. It also introduces two new enemy factions: Boarmen, with five types including Warlord and Firemancer, and Centaurs, with three types such as Flamecaller and Charger. Each faction has unique combat styles and coordinated attacks. New boss battles are also included. The level cap has been raised from 50 to 55, unlocking Tier 5 passive skills and adding new relics for deeper character customization. A new trailer accompanies the update. The game is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a 30 percent discount on Steam until June 26. Following the update, the concurrent player count on Steam rose from the hundreds to over 2,000.

Game Republic, the developer behind the PlayStation 2 action-adventure Genji and the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 title Clash of the Titans, received a bankruptcy commencement order from the Tokyo District Court on June 10. The company was founded by former Capcom employee Yoshiki Okamoto. Liabilities are under investigation.

Kotobukiya's Oshi Works figure brand is releasing a scale figure of Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan The Final Season. The figure captures Eren with eyes hiding his resolve to start the Rumbling and his lonely back. It uses magnets for positioning and stands about 230mm tall. Pre-orders are open at 8,800 yen for a December 2026 release.

MAPPA celebrated its 15th anniversary on June 14 with a special website, a June 19 lineup presentation stream, and a fall 2026 exhibition. The studio, founded in 2011 by Masao Maruyama, has produced major hits including Attack on Titan The Final Season, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Chainsaw Man. The presentation will feature new title information and a commemorative movie with a song by PEOPLE 1.

Koei Tecmo announced Attack on Titan 3 during Summer Game Fest 2026 on June 6, with a release date of July 1, 2026. Yoshihiro Nishimura, the Japanese film director and special effects artist known for his work on Shin Godzilla, the live-action Attack on Titan film, and his own cult horror films such as Tokyo Gore Police, died on Monday at age 59 after a battle with liver disease.
