A Certain Item of Dark Side Anime Reveals October 9 Premiere
The television anime adaptation of Kazuma Kamachi's Toaru Anbu no Item (A Certain Item of the Dark Side) spinoff novel will premiere on October 9. The staff revealed a new trailer, the theme song artists, and the premiere date on Friday. The opening theme "Ghost Sequence" is performed by East Of Eden, marking the band's first anime tie-in. The ending theme "Meltdowner" (Genshi Kuzushi) is performed by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, who previously contributed the first ending theme for A Certain Scientific Railgun T. The trailer also introduces Chobi Keno, a fifth member of the secret organization ITEM. The four main members were previously announced: Shizuri Mugino (voiced by Ami Koshimizu), Rikou Takitsubou (Aya Suzaki), Frenda Seivelun (Maaya Uchida), and Saiai Kinuhata (Chinatsu Akasaki). Tatsuyuki Nagai, who directed A Certain Scientific Railgun, is directing the anime at J.C. Staff. Shigeki Kimoto, chief animation director for the A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun series, is designing the characters. Maiko Iuchi composes the music. The novel series follows the women of Academy City's dark side, focusing on the underground organization ITEM.
