Train Sim World 7 Launches September 15 With Freight Transport and Real-Time Weather
Dovetail Games announced Train Sim World 7 during the gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 pre-show on August 26. The latest entry in the railway simulation series will release on September 15, 2026 for PC (Steam/Epic Games Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Automaton report notes the store page lists September 16 for Japan. The game includes routes such as Tri-Rail in Florida, the Airedale & Wharfedale Network in northern UK, and Wurzburg in Nuremberg, Germany, along with real vehicles that run on them. Players can operate trains freely, choosing any route and vehicle, or take on the role of a conductor. A new feature makes freight transport playable from the start, letting players move cargo without schedule constraints while switching tracks and rearranging trains. A weather system based on real-time location data reproduces actual local conditions. Safety systems including AWS and PZB are provided. The PC version introduces an Epic setting level with increased draw distance and improved shadows beyond the Ultra setting. DirectX 12 support includes DLSS 4.5 with DLAA and FSR 4 for upscaling and frame generation.
