Matching TRUE LOVE Adds 10 New Cast Members, Sets Fall 2026 Release
The sequel to the 2024 film "Matching" has announced ten new cast members and confirmed the return of Sei Matobu and Takenori Goto. The film, titled "Matching TRUE LOVE," stars Tao Tsuchiya as Rinwa, a woman who lost her family and friends in a series of app-related marriage murders, and Daimei Sakuma as Tomu, her lover who disappears. The story moves from dating apps to a "matching tour" at a resort hotel on a southern island, where participants' pasts are exposed, leading to a death game. New cast members include Ryoka Neya as Mayuko Sasaki, Rinwa's colleague and tour manager; Mami Tomite as Ruri Himuro, a female entrepreneur with love phobia; Ryoichi Tsukada (A.B.C-Z) as Yutaro Amano, a physical trainer; Nanami Taki as Rie Matsuhashi, a kimono shop heiress; Seigo Hama as Katsuhiko Ichijo, an elite doctor; Shiho Kato as Yura Hinata, an esthetician; Kotone Hanase as Ayako Takada, a sheltered girl; and Sora Ijima as Kaito Shimizu, a streamer. The previous film earned 970 million yen at the box office and drew over 673,000 viewers. Eiji Uchida returns to write and direct. The film is scheduled for a nationwide release in fall 2026.
