DMM GAMES Store iOS App Launches, Skips App Store
DMM GAMES, operated by EXNOA, released the iOS version of its store app "GAMES STORE" on August 31, 2026. The app allows players to install and play DMM GAMES titles directly on an iPhone without going through the App Store. The launch lineup includes 10 all-ages titles, such as "Teklonos," "Muv-Luv Girls Garden," and "Mist Train Girls: From the Window of the Misty World." The store is available only in Japan, requiring a Japan-based Apple account, and it is not supported on iPad. The release follows the Smartphone Software Competition Promotion Act, enacted in December 2025, which enabled alternative app marketplaces on iOS. A notable feature is the distribution of R18 versions of games as native apps, with "Twinkle Star Knights X" cited as an R18 version. To install, users must set the iPhone's age rating to "Unrated" and use Safari. A campaign running from September 2 to September 22 offers 50 DMM points to all participants and a lottery for up to 3,000 DMM points.
