Waste The Fallen: Free-to-Play Cosmic Horror Extraction Shooter Announced
South Korean developer RoyalCrow announced Waste The Fallen on August 13, a free-to-play cosmic horror extraction shooter for PC via Steam. The game casts players as Deviants, beings who have imbued abyssal power into their arms, who descend into ruins to scavenge weapons, materials, and rare items. They face monstrous Fallen, rival Deviants, and environmental hazards, with deeper areas offering better loot but also greater danger and a creeping sense of strangeness that erodes sanity. The game supports solo play or teams of up to three. To soften the harsh setting, most secured loot can be protected in oversized safe boxes, and crafting is cheap and quick, making recovery after failure easy. Between expeditions, players return to an expandable hideout to upgrade crafting stations, unlock blueprints, and create new equipment. A closed alpha test runs from September 4 at 19:00 to September 8 local time (September 5 at 11:00 to September 9 in Japan), with participants earning exclusive skins. Japanese language support has not been announced. RoyalCrow previously developed CROWZ, a free-to-play PvP shooter that entered Early Access in 2022 and ended service in 2023.
