Team NINJA's Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember arrives March 4, 2027 and adds an open field to the series. Producer Masakazu Hirayama says the wider design answers criticism that the previous game's morale rank system felt forced. The game is planned for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA brought Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember to Tokyo Game Show 2026 as a playable demo at Makuhari Messe. The sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty keeps Hua Jin, the timed deflect that links parries into counterattacks, and adds Huang Techniques that borrow the phoenix's power to boost dash, guard, jump, Qinggong and Hua Jin. Aerial combat and open battlefields are also in the build.
Footage of Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember appeared during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast, which began streaming on September 17 at 19:00. The clip introduces a new boss, Sakushi, a monster from Chinese mythology that attacks with its long fangs and massive body and uses the terrain. It also shows two new actions: Phoenix Arts, a parry and counterattack that strengthens the protagonist's actions, and Divine Beast Manifestation, a conditional power release that rushes enemies back.
Koei Tecmo Games will release Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, the sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, on March 4, 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The announcement came on September 16, 2026, alongside a limited-time alpha demo for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S that runs until September 30. The demo covers part of the Changban field, supports character creation and up to three-player online co-op, and rewards players who beat boss Wuzhiqi with the Fengchu Helmet for the full game. The game is again developed by Team NINJA. The story is set in 208 AD, opening when Cao Cao's army destroys the village of the protagonist and his close friend Pang Tong, and runs through Changban and the Battle of Red Cliffs. Changban and Red Cliffs are built as open fields where players capture strongholds, raise morale, and deploy recruited officers, and the new Phoenix Arts add airborne and acrobatic combat on top of the returning Huajin deflect.
D3 Publisher announced its exhibition plans for Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17-21 at Makuhari Messe. The company's booth, Hall5 05-C03, will feature trial stations for three Earth Defense Force titles, including the PlayStation 5 game 'Earth Defense Force 6.2 INVADERS FROM ANOTHER WORLD.' Visitors can also try 'Earth Defense Force 5 for Nintendo Switch 2,' releasing October 8, and 'Earth Defense Force 6 for Nintendo Switch 2,' due this winter. The booth stage will host events introducing new titles, with live streams on YouTube and Niconico Douga. Details on event content and schedules will be posted on D3 Publisher's and Earth Defense Force's official X accounts, plus a dedicated TGS2026 special site. The trial corner highlights the series' signature feature of battling overwhelming enemy numbers, with partial weapon customization available in the PS5 title.
