Yawarakai Sensha Free Marathon Broadcast Set for ABEMA
ABEMA will broadcast all 53 episodes of the anime Yawarakai Sensha for free in a marathon starting at 3:00 PM on August 11. The nonstop airing will run on the Anime SPECIAL2 Channel, and all episodes will remain available for free viewing for one week after the broadcast. This marks the first free marathon broadcast of the series on ABEMA. Yawarakai Sensha is an original net anime released in 2005, directed by animation director Rareko. It is a slapstick comedy about a mysterious weapon that, despite being a tank, has a soft body and is timid, along with its friends. The characters, who immediately retreat by saying "Retreat~" when attacked, gained popularity for their lovable yet apathetic demeanor. The work received the Japanese Media Arts 100 Selection, taking first place in the Entertainment Division, and the Web of the Year 2006 Topic Award. The press release describes the series as a pioneer of the net anime boom and calls its support a social phenomenon.
