NIS America is bringing the fantasy side-scroller to the West for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in 2027, with an announcement trailer now live. The game already launched in Japan on Switch, Switch 2, and PS5 on April 30.

The story follows Mono, voiced by Rena Motomura, a mistreated child of an opera house family who lives in the attic and is loved only by her older sister, Reina Kondo. When her sister is infected with Paper Mortis, a disease that turns people into picture books and paper monsters, Mono sets out for the Asylum Library where patients are confined. There she meets Mär, voiced by Makoto Koichi, a legendary paper monster who agrees to protect her.

Kento Jobana, director of Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero and Disgaea 7, wrote and directed the game. Sayaka Oda handled character design and illustration, and Takeshi Matsumoto composed the music. Akiko Shikata performs the theme song.
