Ultraman A-Type and Shin Hayata Join S.H.Figuarts for 60th Anniversary

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Ultraman, Bandai Spirits is releasing two new S.H.Figuarts figures: Ultraman (A-Type) based on body scan data of suit actor Toshiyuki Furuya, and a newly sculpted Shin Hayata figure with accessories including a spoon from a famous scene. Pre-orders open July 17, 2026 on Premium Bandai.

The Ultraman (A-Type) figure uses body scan data of the first suit actor Toshiyuki Furuya, with the prototype handled by Yo Narita, who worked on the Ultraman Tiga S.H.Figuarts series. Cooperation from Tsuburaya Productions' modeling department LSS helped reproduce the mask sculpt and body balance. Soft parts in multiple sections allow a wide range of motion for recreating iconic scenes. The figure includes a Spacium Beam effect part and an Ultra Water Stream effect part based on episode 13.

The Shin Hayata figure is a new sculpt using Soul Digital Coloring technology to match footage from the original series. It includes a removable Science Patrol helmet, a Super Gun with retractable barrel, and a spoon accessory to recreate the moment from episode 34 where Hayata, eating curry, grabs a spoon instead of the Beta Capsule. Both figures are priced at 9,900 yen each and ship in February 2027.
