The anime of Mai Matsuda's Walking Home with You manga has a television format and an April 2027 premiere on the NTV channel, confirmed on the series' official website Wednesday. The site also posted a teaser visual and a commemorative illustration by Matsuda. Digital publisher Omoi licenses the manga, which Matsuda launched in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine in August 2023. Futabasha will publish the seventh volume on Thursday.
The teaser visual carries the tagline, "The requirement for joining the club is walking home with me." Matsuda also drew a commemorative illustration for the announcement. Omoi describes the story as following Shun, a former middle school soccer star who quit after an injury, and Naoki, an upperclassman who pulls him into her unofficial Hyper-Epic Heading Home Club. The club has one member. The manga's anime adaptation was announced in March 2025. Matsuda launched it in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine in August 2023, and the seventh volume arrives on Thursday.
