Demolition Derby pushes the series' full-contact premise into a scoring ruleset, and Chase adds a pursuit format, so the update widens what the early access build offers beyond circuit racing.

Wreckfest 2 Adds Demolition Derby And Chase Modes In Ninth Update

THQ Nordic Japan released the ninth update for Wreckfest 2 on October 16. The early access PC game adds two courses, The Drome - Deathloop 2 and Hogtown Arena, each with an alternate layout, plus three vehicles: The Blade, The Flipper, and The Hammerhead. Two game modes arrive, Demolition Derby and Chase, along with six challenge events, multiplayer and AI improvements, a new AI vehicle set, and memory optimization.

The ninth Wreckfest 2 update landed on October 16, and the headline additions are two modes rather than more tracks. Demolition Derby has players wreck each other's vehicles until one remains, with the vehicle that dealt the most damage to a player marked as a rival worth extra score. Chase splits the field into one fleeing car and its pursuers; in solo play the player drives the fleeing vehicle and tries to reach the goal ahead of AI opponents.

Two courses also arrive, The Drome - Deathloop 2 and Hogtown Arena, both with alternate layouts. Three vehicles join the roster, two of them carried over from the previous Wreckfest. Six challenge events and a new AI vehicle set round out the patch.

  • The Drome - Deathloop 2: races through a giant double loop
  • Hogtown Arena: mud-soaked collisions
  • The Drome - Double Cross: alternate layout
  • Hogtown Oval: alternate layout
  • The Blade: 1980s American muscle car
  • The Flipper: hatchback emblematic of the 1990s
  • The Hammerhead: 1980s European-style wagon
  • Demolition Derby: destroy each other's vehicles until only one remains
  • Chase: one fleeing vehicle and pursuing vehicles
