Why it matters
The Tartarus line has run since the Nostromo n52te in 2008, and a new model after about seven years signals Razer still sees a market for single-hand keypads even as the layout changes push some keys beyond easy reach.
The key layout is redesigned, with 27 keys, a wide 1.75U left column, specially shaped right-column keys, and an updated thumbstick. A review notes the expanded surface puts some keys out of easy reach.
The Tartarus V2 Pro is the first new entry in the series in about seven years, following the Tartarus Pro released in October 2019. Both the key switches and the thumbstick move to Razer's latest specifications.
The chassis is shaped for the left hand, with a wrist rest that adjusts and can be angled left and right. The key layout is the bigger change: 27 keys, a wide 1.75U left column, and specially shaped keys in the right column. Accessories are a USB cable, replacement thumbstick caps, a manual, and stickers.
