Bandai Namco Flags Possible Delay to ACE COMBAT 8 Ver.1.01.002 Update
A bug-fix patch for a game already on sale is being held back by an infrastructure problem outside the game itself, and Bandai Namco is giving no date until it knows the scope of impact.

Bandai Namco Entertainment says the October 23 update for ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE may have its schedule adjusted. Ver.1.01.002, planned for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam), was to fix Campaign progression bugs, adjust enemy aircraft behavior and tune special weapons in ACE COMBAT ONLINE. The accompanying ACE COMBAT ONLINE server maintenance is also affected. The company cites the industry-wide response to system-related events, including a PHP critical vulnerability issue, and says it is confirming the scope of impact.
The affected build, Ver.1.01.002, was to touch MISSION 15 and MISSION 28 as well as the Campaign's enemy aircraft behavior, and it added an ON/OFF toggle for asynchronous calculation on the Steam version. None of that work is described as cancelled, only unscheduled.
Bandai Namco says the scope of impact is still being confirmed. When the schedule is settled, it will announce the implementation date and time. Until then, players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) have the current build and no firm date for the fixes.
