BANDAI SPIRITS Sets October 17 Release for HI-METAL R Layzner
The pre-order line for Blue Comet SPT Layzner merchandise has leaned on older tooling, so a new HI-METAL R sculpt with the V-MAX heat dissipation state built in gives the mecha a retail release that does not depend on the secondary market.

BANDAI SPIRITS will release HI-METAL R Layzner on October 17, 2026 as a general retail product priced at 29,700 yen. The Layzner figure from Blue Comet SPT Layzner uses a new sculpt with proportions based on Kunio Okawara's design drawings. Opening armor on each part exposes internal parts to reproduce the heat dissipation state after V-MAX activation, and an LED mounted in the neck ball joint provides the compound-eye light-emitting gimmick.
The set includes a Laser Rifle, two calf missiles, a backpack, a replacement neck part for the upward-facing pose, an ascending and descending wire, a replacement antenna, and a dedicated stand set. Two pilot figures for Eiji are included, one seated for the cockpit and one standing. The Knuckle Shot is built with articulation so punches can be posed without swapping parts. The backpack can hold the Laser Rifle. Total height is about 165mm, and the figure uses ABS, die-cast, and PVC. Two LR41 batteries are sold separately.
