Premium Bandai Opens Preorders For Char Aznable Sunglasses
A single prop from one episode of the original series gets the Premium Bandai treatment at eyewear prices, which shows how far the merchandise line will reach for a recognizable Char detail.
Reporting from 1 source: Inside.
Premium Bandai is taking preorders for three items tied to Char Aznable's sunglasses from Mobile Suit Gundam. The reproduction of the glasses he wears in episode 12 costs 15,400 yen, and a version with Gihren Zabi printed on the lenses costs 16,500 yen. A display stand using a scene cut from the same episode costs 3,300 yen. Preorders close January 31, with shipping set for February 2027.
The frame carries Char Aznable's personal mark on the modern part, and the temple reads "Char Aznable." Buyers who want the alternate version get the same glasses with Gihren Zabi printed on the lenses. Both ship with a dark red case and a cleaning cloth.
The stand is the third piece: a display base built around a scene cut from the same episode the glasses appear in. All three close on January 31 at 23:00, with shipping scheduled for February 2027. Product pages are on Premium Bandai.
