Biblical Themes in Anime Panel Returns to Anime Matsuri 2026
The panel's return shows that Christian anime communities continue to create space for explicitly faith-based discussion of secular media at major conventions.
Reporting from 1 source: Beneath the Tangles.
Beneath the Tangles and Few of the Many Ministry will host a panel at Anime Matsuri 2026 exploring biblical themes in anime like Frieren, Madoka Magica, and Jujutsu Kaisen. The panel, titled 'Biblical Themes in Anime,' takes place on Friday, July 24 at 5:30 p.m. It marks a return appearance for the cohosts, who presented a similar panel at the convention last year.
The panel is cohosted by Tiff of ShortStuffArts and the Few of the Many ministry, alongside Twwk of Beneath the Tangles. The session will discuss redemption, forgiveness, pride versus humility, mentorship, and perseverance as they appear in selected anime. The panel format includes audience participation, with time set aside for attendees to share their own examples. The event is free to convention attendees.
