Bubbles Zine announced it has licensed Suehiro Maruo's horror collection New National Kid. The publisher will release the English edition in winter 2026-2027, with translation by Ryan Holmberg. Bubbles Zine previously published two other Maruo titles.
The collection first appeared in Japan in 1996 as National Kid and was reprinted in 1999 under the title New National Kid. The book contains horror stories. Ryan Holmberg is translating the volume for Bubbles Zine, which previously released Maruo's Beautiful Monster and Lunatic Lover's manga. Maruo has been drawing manga professionally since 1980 and won the New Artist Prize at the 13th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes in 2009.
