Bungie Co-Founder Jason Jones Launches Studio Stone Kite
Stone Kite is staking its pitch on letting the audience pick the entry point rather than treating other media as an extension of one primary story, a model the studio says departs from how transmedia is usually practiced.

Jason Jones, a Bungie co-founder, established the studio Stone Kite with author Margaret Stohl on October 2. Stone Kite's first project, One Zero One, is live as a four-volume graphic novel on the studio's website, with volume 1 free to read. It follows a conflict between humans and AI-equipped robots and draws on Jones's novel An Oral History of Humanity's Final Invention.
Jones left Bungie's ranks in June 2026, when large-scale layoffs at the company included the Chief Vision Officer title he held. Stone Kite pairs him with Stohl, who has worked on novels, comic scripts, and game scenarios and served as narrative director on Destiny 2. Stohl told IGN that the medium telling a story first ends up setting its later direction, a premise Stone Kite says it wants to work around. Volumes 2 through 4 of One Zero One are planned for release in sequence.
