Continued Portopia Remake Adds Cursor Hints And Maps For Its Dungeons

The remake keeps the Famicom version's command investigation and dungeon layout intact while quietly removing the two friction points that defined it, the pixel-hunt cursor and the memorized phone numbers.

Continued Portopia Remake Adds Cursor Hints And Maps For Its Dungeons

At Tokyo Game Show 2026, G-Mode's in-development remake Continued Portopia Serial Murder Case: Burial of Oblivion was playable on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The demo opens with Kozo Yamakawa's mysterious suicide and names the protagonist Daigo Go, previously just Boss. The magnifying glass cursor turns red with a "!" bubble over evidence, phone numbers register automatically, and the underground maze now shows a map.

The demo does not start where the 1985 Famicom version started. Instead of Hanakuma Town, it opens on the investigation headquarters, lays out the suicide of consumer finance president Kozo Yamakawa, and gives the player character a name: Daigo Go. He was only "Boss" before.

Yasuhiko Mano, the subordinate, appears next, drawn close to the Famicom package illustration. The command window still drives everything: move, ask, investigate. Important hints trigger a cut-in. In the residence, the magnifying glass cursor turns red with a "!" bubble wherever something is hidden, and found phone numbers register to a list instead of being memorized. The underground maze keeps its old structure but now draws a map.
