Koei Tecmo began distributing a demo for Dynasty Warriors 2 with Xtreme Legends Remastered on September 24 across the Nintendo Store, PS Store, and Microsoft Store. The Steam demo is not yet released. The full game launches October 1 for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam at 7,480 yen. It adds evade and just power guard, plus Ziluan from Dynasty Warriors: Origins as a playable character.
The demo covers the versions headed to PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S, but the Steam demo is still pending. The full remaster packages Dynasty Warriors 2 with Dynasty Warriors 2 Xtreme Legends and its extra content, and it supports offline two-player split-screen. At the game's Tokyo Game Show 2026 stage, Koei Tecmo said online two-player play is planned for around January 2027, after launch.
