Why it matters
The trial only exposes two of the game's parallel storylines, so the piece is asking players to judge a multi-perspective mystery on a fraction of its cast before the full picture arrives in spring 2027.

The game follows several girls across "the three days until Halloween" in the city of Sivya, with players switching perspectives to connect what each character knows. Planning and scenario are by Nakayoshi Tanizaki, who worked as a scenario writer on STEINS;GATE and CHAOS;CHILD, with main character design and original art by Scottie.
The trial opens on a Halloween night in Sivya that turns into a mass shooting, and a hooded girl named Veronica Stoyanov cuts down the attackers with a knife. Her line about failing again and again is the hook the game hangs its time structure on. A Timeline system orders each unlocked character's story from oldest to newest, so the player walks toward the Sivya incident rather than away from it.
Two routes are readable in this build. Kanna Kikyo, the eldest daughter of a former noble family, is hunting for her missing brother Koichi, a police officer who disappeared after a suicide bombing killed the deputy prime minister he was guarding. Nadeshiko Hiiragi is the center of the three-member idol group Hinamel and is digging into incidents around her.
