Satomi arrives hours late and drives the kids to the onsen; Tan's delight at the mountain views contrasts with Komaro's carsickness, which ends with her vomiting in the car. The reviewer notes that OceanVeil subscribers get uncensored bathing scenes, gentle teasing between the girls about the boys, and a quiet pre-bed conversation between Hisako and Ume.
The reviewer singles out the drive itself as the better half of the episode: Satomi blanks on the date, shows up hours late, and then drives hazardously, which the review reads as consistent with how much of a disaster she is. Tan's enthusiasm for the mountain views runs against Komaro's worsening carsickness, and her vomiting in the car becomes a fourth-wall joke about anime's habit of censoring puke with a cheerful rainbow palette. Inside the bath, the review credits the animators with giving the figures a sense of weight and notes the scene skips the grabby hands and peeping toms of other series in favor of a laid-back scenario. Post-bath, the review calls Hisako and Ume's pre-bed talk a quiet moment of acknowledged friendship.
