Grand Blue Dreaming Anime Gets Fourth Season After Finale

The official website for the Grand Blue Dreaming television anime announced on Tuesday that the series is getting a fourth season. The announcement came one day after the third season's 12th and final episode aired on Monday, September 21, 2026. A teaser visual accompanied the news. The third season debuted on July 6 on Tokyo MX and BS11 and is set in Palau, marking the first time the anime's setting has moved outside Japan. Shinji Takamatsu returned as director, and studios ZERO-G and Liber handled the animation. The returning voice cast includes Yuma Uchida as Iori Kitahara, Ryohei Kimura as Kohei Imamura, and Chika Anzai as Chisa Kotegawa. The Grand Blue Dreaming manga, written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka, began serialization in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014 and is published digitally in English by Kodansha USA Publishing.

Shinji Takamatsu returned as director, scriptwriter, and sound director. Hideoki Kusama handled character design alongside chief animation director Yoichi Ueda, with Reiko Kasuga on art direction and Yukari Hashimoto composing the music.

The new teaser visual features Chisa Kotegawa, Aina Yoshiwara, and Sakurako Busujima in swimsuits, along with a photograph of Iori pierced by a knife. The image points to a new romantic rivalry carried over from the final episode.

The announcement came immediately after the third season finale finished airing in Japan, the same pattern used for season three. The anime had returned with season two more than six years after season one ended.

Season three ran from July 6 until September 21, 2026. The second season ended with its 12th episode in September 2025, and the entire season leaked online in July 2025, with the leaked final episode listing a third season.

Earlier in the franchise, Zero-G's adaptation aired from July to September 2018, and Amazon Prime Video streamed it worldwide as it aired. A live-action film opened in Japan in August 2020. Crunchyroll previously released manga chapters as they debuted in Japan.
