Guns of Eschaton is the last world Antonov conceived, and its design makes sequence-based enemy solving the core combat loop rather than gunplay.

Guns of Eschaton Builds Its Shooter Around Soul-Like Order

At gamescom 2026, Eschatology Entertainment showed a demo of Guns of Eschaton, a first-person shooter set in a ruined American West. The game is designed as a soul-like first, with shooting secondary. Players must learn enemy weak-point sequences and use guns to solve each encounter. The visual director was Viktor Antonov, who died in February 2025. The title targets PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with release planned within 2026.

Eduard Malykh, who oversees game design, held the controller through the demo and stressed that the game is a soul-like before it is a shooter. Winning by firing alone is not possible. Each enemy has a prepared solution, and the player uses guns to execute it.

The sequence point mechanic is central. Enemies carry multiple weak points, and shooting them in the numbered order builds a damage multiplier. Ignoring the order and hitting the torso still deals damage, but far less. A hand-drawn journal called the Codex holds enemy information, written in Cherokee by a Native American character in the lore, and the player deciphers it.

Defense uses parry and a dodge dash, and ranged attacks can be parried. Three gauges track health, stamina, and gunpowder, which fuels reloading and magic. Around 20 gun types are planned, modeled on real 19th-century firearms with era-matched handling.
