Hamster Sets Arcade Archives 2 Crazy Balloon For October 1 Release

The owner discount turns the arcade re-release line into a cross-generation upgrade path, and the added rewind, save slots, and online ranking modes push the series toward modern emulation features rather than straight ports.

Hamster Sets Arcade Archives 2 Crazy Balloon For October 1 Release

Taito's 1980 action game Crazy Balloon is coming back on October 1 as Arcade Archives 2 Crazy Balloon, Hamster Corporation announced. It will be available for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support. Owners of the existing Arcade Archives Crazy Balloon on Nintendo Switch or PS4 can use the same account to buy the new version on Nintendo Switch 2 or PS5 for 330 yen; the regular price is 1,100 yen.

The 1980 Taito game has the player steer a balloon that constantly sways left and right through a maze of thorns toward the GOAL. The maze fights back: thorns start moving without warning, and the whole screen scrolls.

The Arcade Archives 2 version adds a new user interface, detailed button layout changes and rapid-fire settings, multiple save data files for Original Mode, and a rewind feature that lets players redo their previous action. High Score Mode, Time Attack Mode, and Caravan Mode support online rankings for score competition.
