Hirayasumi Manga Will End In Two More Chapters
The ending lands between two adaptations of the same material, with the live-action series already aired and the anime still ahead, so the manga's conclusion will not close the franchise.

The 45th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits announced that Keigo Shinzo's Hirayasumi manga will end in two more chapters, with a finish on October 19 if there are no delays. The series launched in the magazine in April 2021 and has over 1.1 million copies in circulation worldwide. A live-action series premiered on NHK in November 2025, and a television anime is set for January 2027.
Viz Media publishes the manga in English and released the ninth volume on May 19. Shogakukan shipped the tenth compiled volume on April 30.
The anime will air in Japan on the NHK General channel, with Viz Media announcing a 2027 release in English. Viz Media is co-producing the anime with Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Co., Ltd and Production +h.
Hirayasumi was nominated for the 15th Manga Taisho awards in January 2022, ranked #18 in the 2023 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook, and nominated for the 27th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and for Best Continuing Manga Series in the 2nd American Manga Awards.
