LAM And Ilya Kuvshinov Talk Internet Art At NIGHT HIKE 2026
The festival built on internet-born music, illustration, and video moves from a Shibuya club to Makuhari Messe, and its key visual and lineup come from two artists whose careers grew out of posting work online.

NIGHT HIKE 2026 in Makuhari runs October 31 and November 1 at Makuhari Messe, moving up from its 2023 start at Shibuya WOMB. LAM made the key visual and appears in the live installation SYNK, while Ilya Kuvshinov performs live drawing. In a joint interview, the two illustrators trace how they found each other's work online more than 10 years ago and discuss shared motifs, including short hairstyles.
LAM and Ilya Kuvshinov had seen each other's work for more than a decade before they met. LAM found Kuvshinov on pixiv, through fan art of Persona and Danganronpa; Kuvshinov found LAM on X, drawn to the color schemes and character designs.
That shared history is the subject of their talk tied to NIGHT HIKE 2026 in Makuhari, which runs October 31 and November 1 at Makuhari Messe. LAM made the event's key visual and appears in the live installation SYNK. Kuvshinov performs live drawing. Both now work beyond illustration: LAM as original creator and director on the short anime DemVAMPS in 2026, Kuvshinov on character design for Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 and the game Villion:Code.
