The 33rd 2D Crayon Shin-chan film, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon, has earned over 2.7 billion yen (about US$17 million) in Japan, the highest box office total in the franchise, the film's official website announced Monday. It opened on July 31 and ranked #3 its opening weekend. Director Masaki Watanabe shared an illustration to mark the record.

The total is more than the previous film, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dancers, which had reached 2,098,309,300 yen as of September 2025. This year's film sold 441,000 tickets and earned 539,371,500 yen in its first three days, against 363,000 tickets and 450,283,700 yen over the same window for the 2025 release. Masaki Watanabe directed, Yoshiko Nakamura wrote the script, and Shinei Animation, TV Asahi, ADK Emotions and Futabasha produced, with TOHO distributing.
