Crunchyroll presented a new trailer and key visual for the Magical Buffs: The Support Caster is Stronger Than He Realized! anime at New York Comic Con on Thursday. LiSA sings the opening theme "Ecstatic Buffer," with TK writing lyrics and composing the music. The anime premieres January 4 on Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11 and about 20 other channels. Netflix gets early streaming, before other services.
The January 4 premiere on Tokyo MX, MBS, BS11 and roughly 20 more stations reflects Japan's late-night scheduling pattern rather than a daytime slot. The newly named supporting cast gives the guild screen time: Haruki Ishiya, Atsushi Ono and Yui Ishikawa, voicing Abel, Mark and Monica. Reiji Kawashima leads as Wim Strauss, with Hana Hishikawa as Heidemarie, and Hideki Okamoto directs at J.C. Staff, with Takao Yoshioka on series scripts.
