MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA One-Button Act Mode Playable At Tokyo Game Show 2026

Act carries the part of the audience that came for Kinoko Nasu's Grand Scenario Mode rather than for command inputs, and its demo sits alongside the traditional Duel scheme rather than replacing it.

MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA One-Button Act Mode Playable At Tokyo Game Show 2026

The upcoming 2D fighter MELTY BLOOD: TWI-LUMINA is playable for the first time at Tokyo Game Show 2026, ahead of its April 22, 2027 release on Switch 2, Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Steam. The demo covers the versus mode with seven characters and offers Act, a one-button control scheme that strings combos together, alongside the traditional Duel inputs.

The TGS 2026 demo trims the game down to its versus portion, with seven playable fighters: Shiki Tohno, Arcueid, Ciel, Roa, Neko-Arc, Mash, and Ren. Act can be picked on the character select screen. Mashing a single button carries a combo to its end, and the square and triangle buttons give different results: square launches the opponent into the air for an air combo, triangle pushes them across the ground toward the corner. Switching buttons mid-string changes the combo, so a ground sequence can be diverted into a launcher partway through. Special moves also come out with simple inputs.
