Why it matters
Nintendo is tying the Switch 2 edition's demo window, a monthly short movie run and a Pikmin Bloom update to a single date, so the November 1 label carries the series' promotion rather than one product launch.

The demo covers the early Sun-Speckled Terrace area of Pikmin 4 and two stages of Dandori Certification, and save data carries over to the main game. A short movie series themed on Pikmin, "Hello! Pikmin," will run one per month on the Nintendo Today! app and other platforms, with two installments arriving in November, on November 1 and another day in the month. Miyamoto explained the date during the broadcast by likening the red, blue and yellow Pikmin, the three colors from the series' 2001 start, to the number 1. The Pikmin Bloom announcements went beyond Secret Caves: a Pikmin Bloom Journey in Kobe event is scheduled for November 21 and 22. Actress Fuka Koshiba appeared as a guest at the end of the video, and Miyamoto said he expects her to help liven up Pikmin going forward. The presentation closed with footage from the Hello! Pikmin shorts.
Nintendo's product page lists an upgrade pass for the Switch 2 edition at 1,000 yen as an online code version, with the packaged release priced at 6,582 yen; both prices are as of the article's publication. The demo arrives ten days before the November 12 release.
