NOTHING NEW announced its next feature horror film Senjou, Takuya Miyahara's feature debut, starring Jingi Irie and Makoto Tanaka. The film follows a couple at a lakeside resort eroded by water and was selected for the Panorama section of the 59th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival. Dism, known for the TRPG scenario Katashiro, joins as script cooperation, his first film script work. Release is set for spring 2027.
Miyahara built the film around the idea that humans do not use water but are kept alive and dominated by it, which he said gave the project its water horror form. He previously directed a short film of the same name for NOTHING NEW's anthology NN4444, selected at Clermont-Ferrand and Bucheon. The feature project WASH AWAY/Senjou took the Asian Discovery Award at Bucheon's NAFF It Project in 2025.
Dism, creator of TRPG scenario Katashiro, joins as script cooperation, his first film script work. He said he thought about water and humanity's fundamental fears. Irie called the film the worst omotenashi vacation movie in history. The film opens in spring 2027.
