Mio Tatsumoto's romance manga Older Husband has a live-action short drama, streaming on StellaJean since Friday, October 23, 2026. Ryotaro Akazawa plays Kenichiro Hirose and Sumipon (Sumire Takakura) plays Miya. StellaJean produces and distributes the 20-episode run. The manga has surpassed 5 million cumulative copies in print and digital. The story follows Miya, who has loved Kenichiro since age 10, and takes her missing sister's place as his bride before the wedding.
The drama runs 20 episodes, with StellaJean handling production and distribution. Akazawa's stage work includes the 2.5D adaptations of Mashle: Magic and Muscles and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion; Sumipon (Sumire Takakura) is active in drama, modeling and social media.
In the story, Kenichiro believes his 15-years-younger wife married him reluctantly for her family's sake and keeps his distance, while Miya worries she was never truly chosen. The adaptation carries the title Older Husband: The First Night I Spend with My First Love After Marrying as a Substitute.
